Qba Janicki. A specialist in percussive-electroacoustic improvisations who shifts auditory perception through his own mechanized tools and enhanced sound emission.

Qba Janicki – born on February 6, 1989, in Bydgoszcz. He emerged from the creative environment centered around the MÓZG club. Over the past 17 years, he has performed in hundreds of concerts, sharing the stage with artists such as Roscoe Mitchell, Sławek Janicki, Tomasz Sroczyński, Toshinori Kondo, Peter Brötzmann, Mats Gustafsson, Teoniki Rożynek, and Grischa Lichtenberger. For over a decade, he has been a co-creator of the Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet.

Currently, he is engaged in solo work as well as collaborations in bands like Malediwy with Marek Pospieszalski, T’ien Lai with Jakub Ziołek and Łukasz Jędrzejczak, and in the Marek Pospieszalski Octet and Trio de Janeiro with Marek Pospieszalski and Max Mucha. In addition to playing instruments, he composes theatrical music, collaborating with Krzysztof Garbaczewski, HERTZ HAUS, Maciej Podstawny, Ramona Nagabczyńska, and Paweł Łysak. He has also marked his presence on the hip-hop scene by producing the album HORE for Polish rapper VIENIO.

Additionally, as the vice-president of the MÓZG FOUNDATION and the Sokołowska Group Association, he collaborates in organizing cultural projects and social initiatives in Bydgoszcz, Warsaw, and Sokołów. From 2020 to 2022, he hosted his own show “WARSTWY” for Radio Kapitał. Since 2025, he has also been collaborating with the Avant Art Foundation as a co-producer of the Berlin edition of the Avant Art Festival.
